And still looking for a home! Last month,we transferred Frasier to the MSPCA’s shelter in Centerville, hoping he would find his forever home down there. On Thursday, Frasier was one of the many animals that were relocated here due to the impending storm. The Centerville shelter came for many of their animals this morning and we decided to keep Frasier here. We are hoping that he doesn’t have to wait too much longer for his new home to find him. He is a super dog!!!

The Metro-South non-profit animal shelter welcomes pets
from Centerville shelter as Hurricane Earl approaches
The Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts (APCSM), working with the MSPCA, accepted a half-dozen dogs and a variety of small animals into its Brockton adoption center, providing them shelter during the hurricane. The transfer of these animals was coordinated by Kim Heise, APCSM president and manager, along with the MSPCA management team as part of regional efforts to provide a safe haven for those homeless pets in the temporary care of the Centerville facility. “Just as people need to take actions to protect their families during a storm, animal care professionals do the same”, says Kim Heise; “The APCSM is happy to welcome these pets into our shelter where volunteers and staff will provide them comfort and care. Heise went on to say “Preparing and initiating relocation plans begin early when a storm is still days away and the process continues after a storm passes. We will stay in contact with the MSPCA and continue to provide care for these animals until the Centerville shelter is able to resume normal operations”.

for my forever home!!! It’s me Pandora. Well, it has been going on 5 months since I was dropped off at the shelter. Sigh. The folks here have been really great and taken good care of me. And I get visitors almost everyday, giving me treats or taking me for walks. Some nice people even contributed money so I could have surgery to fix a really painful ear problem I had had for a long time. That is all better now and I feel great. Thanks to everyone who helped! I really appreciate it! But I am really, really hoping I get adopted soon. One of my favorite things to do is cuddle and I would so love a new family so I could have someone to snuggle with at night. My only requirement is that I be the only pet – I want to be spoiled rotten. Please, please come in and visit me!! You will fall in love – I promise!!

August is here and it’s the time of year when children are gearing up for ‘back to school’. The pets at the Animal Protection Center are spending this month trying to get ‘Back to Home’. We are hoping they all are adopted into loving families quickly, and August is a great month for that to happen:
- Adult cat (6 months and older) adoption fees are reduced to $75
- Adopt two kittens (5 months and younger) for the single adoption fee of $175
- Dog adoption fees have been reduced!
- Adoption fees include: spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, FeLV/FIV/HW screening tests
- Tuesday evening adoption hours throughout the month: We will be open 2-7 pm on Tuesdays for adoptions.

A note from Percy’s (now Sky) new home: I had my bird Buddy since I was seven years old. He had been sick for a while, but I thought he was getting better. One day when I was Twelve, I found out that he had passed away. I thought I would never want another pet again. ...
