for my forever home!!! It’s me Pandora. Well, it has been going on 5 months since I was dropped off at the shelter. Sigh. The folks here have been really great and taken good care of me. And I get visitors almost everyday, giving me treats or taking me for walks. Some nice people even contributed money so I could have surgery to fix a really painful ear problem I had had for a long time. That is all better now and I feel great. Thanks to everyone who helped! I really appreciate it! But I am really, really hoping I get adopted soon. One of my favorite things to do is cuddle and I would so love a new family so I could have someone to snuggle with at night. My only requirement is that I be the only pet – I want to be spoiled rotten. Please, please come in and visit me!! You will fall in love – I promise!!
August is here and it’s the time of year when children are gearing up for ‘back to school’. The pets at the Animal Protection Center are spending this month trying to get ‘Back to Home’. We are hoping they all are adopted into loving families quickly, and August is a great month for that to happen:
- Adult cat (6 months and older) adoption fees are reduced to $75
- Adopt two kittens (5 months and younger) for the single adoption fee of $175
- Dog adoption fees have been reduced!
- Adoption fees include: spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, FeLV/FIV/HW screening tests
- Tuesday evening adoption hours throughout the month: We will be open 2-7 pm on Tuesdays for adoptions.

A note from Alfred’s family:
Alfred is amazing! He is very happy here. We love him and he is super smart! We still miss our sweet Renee, but we are happy to make a home for another beautiful animal from the shelter.
Thanks! Diann, Craig and Michael

A note from Percy’s (now Sky) new home:I had my bird Buddy since I was seven years old. He had been sick for a while, but I thought he was getting better. One day when I was Twelve, I found out that he had passed away. I thought I would never want another pet again. After a few weeks, my parents asked me if I wanted another bird, and I said I did not. I was not ready for another pet yet. Buddy had been my Best Friend for five years and I wasn’t ready to have another one yet. A few months later there was a bird in the shelter who reminded me and my family of Buddy. His name was Percy. It said on his info card that he had flown in through a hospital window. My parents again asked me if I wanted another bird, but I was not exactly sure yet. I mean, he was REALLY cute, but I was scared of getting a new pet. The next day my dad, my siblings, and I went to the movies. When we came home my mom said she had a surprise for me. She said to go look in my room. I looked in there and there was Percy! He was so pretty and he was singing very loudly! I decided that I was glad he was there. I later renamed him Sky because of his blue markings. Now, Sky is a happy member of our family. He has become best friends with my sisters bird Delilah. He is also very friendly and very LOUD! I love Sky so much and I am glad he is in our family.

During Adopt-a-Cat Month, 75 cats and kittens found homes! We celebrated each adoption on this board in the lobby of the adoption center.
Over 60 cats and kittens have found homes this June, and we couldn’t be happier! Well… one thing would make us all happier: if 60 more can find homes this weekend! Stop by the adoption center Saturday and Sunday from 12-4 to adopt and take advantage of the generosity of our volunteers and sponsors that have made Adopt-a-Cat Month possible.
